Counsellor - Structured Interventions Service - Braintree Essex (28 hours per week)

This post is for a qualified or pre-qualified counsellor, who is looking to work with individuals with substance misuse problems and support them to address the problems and where applicable achieve abstnence and recovery.

The work will involve 1 to 1 and group sessions with clients who have identified an addiction to illicit substances or prescribed medications. The sessions will be offered both online, by telephone or face to face, in the premsises of partner agencies.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible individual to work as part of our professional Counselling Team and this role will require you:

• Deliver the SHARP programme (Self Help Addiction Recovery Programme) or our pre-abstinence counselling programme, to a high quality, enabling clients to complete treatment and sustain abstinence
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, including interpersonal and step groups
  Conduct one to one counselling and case management sessions
• Set therapeutic assignments

• Has, or is in the process of acquiring, a counselling qualification at Level 4 or above
• Has strong experience of delivering effective counselling to people affected by substance misuse or mental health
• Can demonstrate the ability to work with groups and has knowledge or experience of delivering interpersonal group therapy
• Can build positive relationships with clients, other team members and external professionals
